About Us

Designing outdoor spaces that connect people with the land

Our Approach

We began with a simple observation: many country properties have outdoor spaces that go unused because they lack purposeful design. Owners would walk past areas with incredible potential, simply because no one had shown them what was possible.

Our work starts with listening. What do you envision when you look at your land? How do you want to spend time outdoors? Who will use these spaces, and in what seasons?

From those conversations, we develop designs that feel inevitable rather than imposed. The best outdoor spaces seem as though they've always existed, even when they required significant planning and construction to realize.

What Guides Our Work

Every property has a story written in its topography, vegetation, and water patterns. We read that story before adding our own chapter.

Materials matter. We prefer stone from local quarries, lumber from regional mills, and plants that evolved in your ecosystem. These choices reduce maintenance, support local suppliers, and ensure the final result belongs to its place.

We build for durability, not trends. A well-constructed fire pit should outlast its builders. A thoughtfully routed trail should require minimal maintenance for decades. This philosophy shapes every material choice and construction detail.

How We Work

Site Visit

We walk your property together, discussing your vision and observing site conditions. This visit typically takes one to two hours and involves no cost or obligation.

Proposal Development

Based on our discussion, we prepare a detailed proposal outlining the scope, approach, timeline, and investment required. This includes conceptual sketches for larger projects.

Design Refinement

Once you approve the proposal, we develop detailed plans and specifications. You'll review and approve these before any construction begins.

Construction

Our team manages all aspects of construction, coordinating trades and maintaining communication throughout. We treat your property with the respect we'd expect for our own.

Project Completion

We walk the completed project with you, addressing any final adjustments. You'll receive maintenance guidelines and our contact information for future questions.

Follow-Up

We check in after your first season of use to ensure everything performs as designed and answer questions that arise from actually living with the space.

Who We Are

Our team includes landscape designers, stonemasons, horticulturists, and construction specialists. Some of us came from forestry backgrounds. Others trained in architecture or ecological restoration.

What unites us is an appreciation for outdoor spaces that serve people while respecting the land. We've worked on properties ranging from five acres to five hundred, in terrain from coastal lowlands to mountainous backcountry.

Between us, we've built hundreds of fire pits, miles of trails, dozens of ponds, and countless gathering spaces. Each project taught us something that informs the next.
